The Geography of Riverdance

Composer: Bill Whelan Bill was born on the 22nd may 1950 in Limerick, Ireland.  He attended Cresent College, UCD and the King's Inn while growing up.  He grew up to be an Irish composer and musician and he became famous for composing the music for the famous Irish Dancing show Riverdance. In August 2014, Bill Whelan also composed a symphonic suite version of Riverdance and it was performed by the Ulster Orchestra on BBC Radio 3.      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Whelan Producer:  Moya Doherty Moya Doherty was born in 1957 in Pettigo, County Donegal, Ireland.  She grew up in Dublin and became an Irish entrepreneur and she was the producer and co-founder of the famous Irish dancing show Riverdance.  Before Riverdance she was the owner of a company called Tyrone Productions. Moya grew up and married John McColgan who was the co-founder of Riverdance. At that time Moya was known as one of the richest women in Ireland(with an estimate of 42 million pounds).  They live

It is a show that contains mainly Irish dancing dances and Irish music.  It also contains some Spanish dancing and Spanish music.   The famous show was created by Jean butler and Michelle Flatney who were both world champions.  It was directed by John McColgan, composed by Bill Whelan and produced by Moya Doherty.  It first became famous when they performed at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest during the interval on 30th April 1994.
